who defends it gently in the direction of Steffen

This shot proved a little more fruitful. Run!

Steve Fish lets go of his notorious "slower ball," while Ian Donchi (arms folded in the field) looks distinctly unimpressed. Anyone who has seen said delivery will understand his position.

Brad takes the rare opportunity to try out some leg-spin in the hope of learning something new to bowl when he gets "too old for this fast stuff." Batsman Uroš also looks distinctly unimpressed. The cameraman may have had a beer or two too many?

Uroš hangs around and shows the older players how it's done

Steffen Conn does his best Tony Greig impression with this ludicrous headgear.

Not a bad view, is it?

Triangular 2020 Tournament LJCC vs Washington CC vs Folly's Farm Gallery

On the 24th and 25th September we had a very enjoyable 3 team 20/20 tournament with Washington CC and Follies Farm CC, both from the Uk. Almost all the pictures taken here are from the Ljubljana vs Follies Farm match as Washington CC went straight on to Zagreb to play against them after the first game.

Click on them for larger versions of the pictures. The two visiting teams pose for a photo.

We present Washington CC and Follies Farm Old Spots CC (Pink and Black caps).

A stray leg side delivery gets what it deserves from a Follies Farm batsman.

Showing no respect for local players at all. Brad is carted in the air through legside.

Brad and Tom both charge in the direction of the ball. Such dedication.

Brad, looking rather stupid in this photo as clearly no-one else thought this was out.

Another rank leg-side lolly, another effortless sweep to the boundary.

Tom spies the photographer and does his amusing impression of erm... something

Rob Crawford stays standing with a little help from the keeper.

Dan's turn to get dispatched. Be gone, ball!

Lalantha lets one rip from the Zbiljska Jezera end

Spot the ball competition. No seriously, where is it?

We wanted to say "Same pies, different chef." But Tom delivers a ball that confuses everyone by hitting the stumps, hence the flying bails.

A fine leg's view of Tom Furness bowling a few more...

... with the inevitable consequences.

We interrupt this coverage to bring you a nice view of the hill.

As is Dan. Look, is anyone still actually reading these comments. If you are send an email saying "yes" here

"C'mon, get on with it." Dan waits impatiently while they move the field around.

VELDEN SIXES 2003-2005

2005 CHAMPIONS

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED - LJUBLJANA CLAIM 3RD STRAIGHT VELDEN SIXES TROPHY

Ljubljana Cricket Club made history on Saturday 25th of June, 2005. For the first time in the history of our club two different sides went out in two different countries against different opposition at the same time.

While club veteran Steve Fish led a team against Taylor and Vintners CC in Ljubljana, Mark Oman was captaining the 6-a-side team to victory in the Velden sixes. This was our third victory in consecutive years.

Click here for tournament summary and statistics

Captain Mark Oman opens the victory bottle of champagne

By winning the Velden 6 a side tournament against Kingsgrove CC (Italy), CC Velden 91 (Austria), Prague CC (Czech Republic), Cricket World Nomads (from all over the shop) and Highwaymen and Taverners CC from Cardiff, Wales, Ljubljana Dragons collected our first silverware of the season after convincingly defeating Kingsgrove CC by 5 wickets in the final. The winning team also included Steffen Conn's 5 wickets (and a useful catch and a pile of runs) as well as handy wickets, sixes and catches from Mark Oman, Dan Ryan and Tom Furness. Here we pose with batsman of the tournament Junaid Aziz (from Kingsgrove CC).

Rob Crawford collected the Fairest player of the tournament award, after having a blinding performance with the keeper's gloves on (being involved in every dismissal in the semi-final against our hosts Velden) and yes Rob, we are still talking about that "6" you hit.

Brad Eve happily collects the prize for best bowler after finding his rhythm on the final day.

Brad shows his muted pleasure at the outcome of the day with a glass of Villacher.

2004 CHAMPIONS

Winners also in 2004, after beating CC Velden 91 in a thriller. L-R Rob Crawford, Dan Ryan, Mark Oman, Brad Eve, Tom Furness and Chris "Slogger" Bishop.

Slogger enjoys the moment.
