STILL WITHOUT A LEAGUE WIN AS
LJUBLJANA LOSE ANOTHER TO SALZBURG
Again we fell a little short of
our target against Salzburg at Velden on the weekend. Salzburg 235 beat
Ljubljana 176 for 7 .

Primož Pustoslemšek had a great
debut, taking 1 for 35 and scoring a tidy 18 not out in an unbroken 8th
wicket stand of 51 with Brad Eve

LIMERICK CC TOUR CANCELLED
Sadly we have learnt today that
Limerick CC of Ireland will not be able to visit us this year. We hope the
tour takes place next year instead.
EVEN NARROWER LOSS TO GRAZ
10
runs short in our first match against Graz at Valburga.

Despite a solid 63 from Tom
Furness, Ljubljana couldn't quite score enough to beat Graz.

NARROW LOSS TO

FIRST SOUTHERN
LEAGUE MATCH VS GRAZ CANCELLED
Due to a particularly wet week
and an ominous forecast for the next few days our first league match has
been cancelled. Although Ljubljana were still keen to play, Velden's
groundsman decided that the match would not be able to go ahead. Ljubljana
and Graz are both awarded 6 points. We are all naturally very disappointed,
but hopefully we can get a good result against Salzburg next week instead.

LJUBJANA LOSE BY 117 RUNS TO MUNICH CC DESPITE BRILLIANT DEBUT

Local player Simon Kaučič played his first game of cricket yesterday vs
Munich CC. He held on to a vicious drive to claim a great catch and then
followed that with 3 for 32 off 5 overs. Later on he added 6 runs in his
debut innings. This was easily the best debut figures by a totally new
player in our club's history. Tom Furness also scored a solid 45 not out and
Brad Eve added another bag of wickets in his 4 for 17.

Ljubljana CC welcomed back old friends from Scotland, Morton CC for the
first of its fixtures for the year. A fairly uninspiring grey wet day saw us

MARIBOR START SEASON WITH
VICTORY OVER MEŽICA

The first action of the cricket season took place at Valburga in 2 friendly
matches between current Slovenian National Champions Mežica CC and fierce
rivals Maribor CC
A 30 over a side game took place
followed by a 15 over a side match. Maribor running out winners in both
games.
Borut Čegovnik of Mežica CC told
me that the day had been a great success and that some major new talent had
been found for both clubs with brothers Aleš and Primož Pustoslemšek making
notable debuts for Mežica (Aleš top scoring for Mežica and indeed the whole
match with 25)
